I Belong to Africa

This land, this place, this teeming womb
Of human civilizations,
Africa where I belong.
I belong to Africa
Africa was born in me,
Land of belief and beauty
Land of melanin and art
Uncharted as chastity
Birthplace of human life,
The maternal cradle of life.
Land of hills, flora and fauna
Home of rites and tribes
Customs and songs;
The night’s skin.
