- The Woman
This teeming globe, the earth,
Awe mine mind.
This most excellent canopy, the blue eternal, this crystal tapestry fretted with golden galaxies,
why, it appears no other thing to mine eyes than a foul congregation of vapours.
What a piece of art is a woman! how noble in motherhood!
In mercy how indescribable!
In form and spirit how gracious and admirable!
In loyalty how like nothing!
In apprehension how like a thunder!
The beauty of the universe!
The paragon of animals!
The desire of every eye awake,
A being hungered for by witty gods to behold, hold and wed.
